A
mother is jealous of her son's girlfriend because she is afraid of
losing her beloved. The matter is further complicated when the girlfriend
turns out to be his father's mistress. The father and son are involved
with the same girl, or the father's lover or possible daughter-in-law,
or the son's future wife or potential “stepmother”. In addition, the
mother tries to compete with the girl, her daughter-in-law but also
rival in love. Caught in the middle between his mother and his lover,
the all too beautiful Jean Marais is doomed to a tragic fate.
