The Alliance Française of Hong Kong presents the 34th annual French Cinépanorama, to be held from December 6-20.
The first French Film Festival organized by the Alliance Française of Hong Kong took place in November 1953 at the Queen Theater, with the projection of Mr. Hulot's Holiday. After a few years break, it was in 1972 that the French Film Festival (the name of French Cinépanorama was adopted later) has been held regularly each year in Hong Kong and in 2005 we have finally decided to update the correct number of editions.

The selection featured this year encompasses a wide palette of styles, and will give an excellent opportunity to see the diversity of current French filmmaking.
Three premieres are organized in collaboration with Hong Kong films distributors – including the Opening film Time to Leave by Francois Ozon, Anthony Zimmer by Jérôme Salle, and the Closing Film, Merry Christmas by Christian Carion – which make this festival not only a window of French cinema but also a supporter of professionals of the Hong Kong cinema
industry.

Lastly, it is clear that the French Cinepanorama would not have enjoyed sucha long history without the unstinting support of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, especially for this year, HK Film Archive has organised "Inspired by Jean Cocteau" programme as a contribution to the Festival. We are delighted to have the support of the Consulate General of France, and Broadway Cinematheque as well. 二零零五年十二月六日至二十日，香港法國文化協會舉辦第三十四屆法國電影節。
香港法國文化協會第一次舉辦法國電影節是一九五三年的十一月，當時假皇后戲院放映了《于先生渡假記》。之後暫停了幾年，到了一九七二年，法國電影節（ French Cinepanorama 這名稱是較後期才被採用）才開始在香港每年定期舉辦，而我們終於決定在二零零五年正式更正法國電影節的舉辦屆數。

今年電影節選映的影片種類包括各式各樣的風格，足以證明現今法國電影製作的多元化和豐富多姿。
其中三部在香港首映的電影是與香港的電影發行機構合辦，包括電影節開幕電影：法蘭索瓦．奧桑的《最後的時光》，謝洛姆．沙爾的《緝拿 Z 先生》，以及閉幕電影：基士頓．卡倫的《聖誕快樂》，這顯示出法國電影節不單只是提供欣賞法國電影的視窗，同時亦是支持香港電影專業人士的平台。

毫無疑問，法國電影節能享有這麼悠久的歷史實在是有賴康樂及文化事務署一直以來的鼎力支持，尤其是今年香港電影資料館更籌辦〝獻給尚‧高克多〞節目， 於本屆電影節期間放映。此外，我們也要多謝法國駐港總領事館與百老匯電影中心的協助。 我更特別在此謹代表香港法國文化協會向 Moores Rowland Mazars 、 TV5 、 Golden Scene 、 Edko and Intercontinental ，還有法國航空公司、 Alain Mikli 、 Credit Agricole Asset Management 、 Calyon 、 Lancel 、蘭桂芳集團、 Pointech Industrial Ltd 、 Quam 、 Rémy Martin 及洲立影片等贊助機構和合作伙伴致最誠懇的謝意。
