A homeless man finds a police uniform and puts it on in order to get a good meal at the police station. As he leaves he notices a young woman whose husband's family refuse to return her child to her, because of her past. This woman gives our hero a reason to exist and Roland decides to dispense justice himself by donning a uniform. But his natural awkwardness and his determination lead him to a situation, where he confuses the name of the parents-in-law with that of a famous businessman.

Albert Dupontel presents a truly nutty, funny, deranged – and nearly deranging – UFO of a film that takes up a corrosive and merciless tone of revolt regarding our consumer society.

Compared with Dupontel's Bernie and The Creator, Locked out doesn't play the ‘sell out' or dark card as much as he brings in themes of the poetic, burlesque and ‘Life, at all costs!

This poetic film is a fairy tale bordering on a love story, a seamless succession of gags, no overreaching or fake connections; it's a “cartoon with a social conscience” falling somewhere between the Fisher King and Buster Keaton.

某日，一名流浪漢在街上找到一套警察制服，他穿上制服，目的是假扮警察到警署的飯堂吃頓飽飯。飽餐後他正要離開，這時他留意到一名少婦。這少婦的夫家因為她的過往而拒絕將她的孩子交還她。這名女子讓我們的主角找到了生存的理由，流浪漢盧倫決定穿上制服來主持正義。但他天生的笨拙和決心令他烏龍百出，將少婦的公公婆婆之姓名與一著名商人的姓名混淆。

這抒情的電影有如神話故事一般又帶點兒愛情故事的味道，笑料一個接一個流暢自如又毫不誇張或牽強；本片有點像 Fisher King 和 Buster Keaton 創作的那些具〝社會意識的卡通片〞。
