Gamblers is a gritty urban crime drama set in the garment district of Paris that has borne favorable comparisons to Scorsese's Mean Streets or Robert Mulligan's Blood brothers.

Vahé works in a shop that belongs to his father, but it is soon to close down – too many debts and unpaid bills. Lu Ann, the woman he loves, has walked out on him. And he knows that the three-card trick con that he does with his friends, Sahak and Toros will not get him very far. Yuen, Lu Ann's brother, comes to France as an illegal immigrant but refuses to work for the network that got him into the country without realizing how dangerous this might be. Vahé decides to help him. Little by little a bond is forged between the two men – Vahé's loyalty to his old pals is put to the test and he turns against his own gang.

The film relates, through the fates of two main characters, the often violent cohabitation of the Armenian and Chinese communities in the Sentier neighborhood in the heart of Paris.
