All around the world, each year in March is the occasion to learn more about the French-Speaking cultures with “The French Speaking festival”! This festival will enable the citizens of Hong Kong — French-speaking, Francophiles or simply the curious — to discover or rediscover the Francophone cultures of the world. The planet over, French has never been so widely spoken as it is today. It is one of the world's most important languages of communication. The sharing of French, a language that enables communities of all of the continents to relate to each other, provides yet another justification for the celebration of the Francophonie. The Francophonie is hence a space for expression, reflection and collective creations. From March 14 to 28 th , French language will be celebrated through a series of cultural and artistic events in various venues in town. We will have a rich and varied programme: contests (collage, photography and video) for young Francophiles with rewarding prices to win, a hip-hop concert with artists from France and Canada, a cinema cycle about Love, conferences, lectures, poetry and music… And you don't need to speak French to enjoy! 每年的三月份，世界各地的人均可透過“國際法語節”對法語國家的文化有進一步的認識。 香港的市民——不論是說法語的，熱愛法國文化的或只是好奇的 —— 可藉這期間舉辦的一連串節目認識或再次熟識世界各地說法語國家的文化。 由 3 月 14 至 28 日，在本港的不同場地將會舉辦一連串與法語有關的文化及藝術節目：如為正在學習法語的學童及年輕人而設的比賽 ( 拼貼、攝影及錄像 ) ；來自法國、加拿大的音樂人演出的 Hip Hop 音樂會；以愛為主題的小型電影節，還有研討會、文學作品及詩歌誦讀、音樂節目等…… 無論閣下說法語與否均無任歡迎﹗ |

No one can deny that the hip-hop movement in China is growing at an accelerated rate now that it has sloughed off its air of secrecy and has virtually become a way of life for a significant number of young Chinese. In this vein, the Alliance Française of China network plans to further introduce to the greater Chinese public the richness and variety that is French-language hip-hop. Opening the Francophone Festival of 2009 in style, the Canadian Consulate in Hong Kong together with the Alliance Française of Hong Kong invite you to a truly unique hip-hop experience on Saturday, 14 th March at the Fringe Club with: 自從HipHop文化揭開了它的神秘面紗後，在中國以極快的速度流行起來，並成為部份年青人的一種生活模式。中國的法語聯盟 ( 即Alliance Française) 有意將來自各地多姿多彩的法語 HipHop 音樂介紹給中國的公眾認識。需然以英文或西班牙文歌唱的 HipHop 音樂仍然是最廣泛流行，可是，法語的 Hip Hop 樂壇亦很活躍，發展十分迅速及多元化…… 法語 Hip Hop 樂壇擺脫成見和老調陳詞，為我們提供一些很能表達都市情懷，歌詞和旋律都十分優美的音樂。 加拿大駐港領事館與香港法國文化協會於 2009 年 3 月 14 日假藝穗會舉辦一場精彩的音樂會，邀請大家欣賞多位 Hip Hop 界精英的演出，為 2009 年國際法語節打響頭炮。 |

Accrophone (Canada 加拿大) Claude Bégin 與 Emmanuel Lajoie-Blouin 於 1993 年在加拿大魁北克省的相遇擦出了火花， Hip Hop 樂隊 Accrophone 亦因而誕生了。由比賽到灌錄專輯，樂隊因他們的歌詞極具爆炸性，還有他們成功地將雷加音樂與爵士樂混合在 hip hop 音 樂之中，再配上和諧悅耳的歌聲而聲譽日隆。 Accrophone 的音樂破除傳統，毫無顧忌地採用電子結他或其他在 HipHop 音樂中絕少聽到的樂器︰如羽管鍵琴、單簧管及小提琴等來演繹他們的 Hip Hop 音樂，創造出他們獨有的風格。 |

Mc Yan (Hong Kong) 陳廣仁，別名 MC 仁，除了是一位塗鴉藝術家外，亦是即極推動街頭藝術發起人，他更是區內華裔饒舌歌手的其中一位先行者。他與 DJ Tommy 組成了 LMF 樂隊後，開始推動與其他亞洲國家 ( 南韓、台灣、中國、日本…… ) 的音樂人合作，名為“筷子 Hip Hop ”的運動。 MC 仁被國際傳媒譽為中國 Hip Hop 樂壇的先驅之一。2006 年， MC 仁創立了自己的獨立品牌“福建音樂” ( Fu©Kin Music ) ，目的是探索音樂的新領域，如粵語饒舌歌，口語中文及 slam 等。 |

Born in Brussels in 1957, Jean-Philippe Toussaint has written nine novels in French. He studied in Paris where he earned a degree at the Institute of Political Science in 1978 and, one year later, a diploma in Contemporary History (MPhil). While teaching high school in Algeria from 1982 to 1984, he began to write. In 1985, he published his first novel titled, La salle de bain which met with critical and commercial acclaim. Toussaint occupies a privileged position among contemporary writers due to his pure and minimalist style characterized by an off-hand and sardonic tone. His novels have been translated into over twenty languages. 香港法國文化協會為大家介紹比利時作家兼導演尚 - 菲利普．圖森的兩部電影作品。他的小說《逃》曾於 2005 年獲得法國四大重要文學獎之一的梅迪西文學獎。他將這小說改篇成一部短片，並於 2008 年在巴黎 Louis Vuitton 展廊舉辦，一個名為 Travelling 的展覽中展映，另一部電影是他 1999 年導演的長片《溜冰場》。 1957 年 11 月 29 日生於布魯塞爾，比利時作家尚 - 菲利普．圖森創作了九本小說。 |

Entre les Wenzhou arrivés au début du siècle dernier, les Teochew débarqués au milieu des années 70 pendant la guerre du Vietnam et les Dongbei migrants économiques récents, ils représentent tous une facette du continent chinois à un moment de son histoire. Perçus à la fois comme « exotique » dans les années 60 ou « industrieux » dans les années 90, les Chinois de France lentement se fondent dans le panorama de la diversité ethnique française. De plus en plus nombreux, il y en aurait plus de 500 000 aujourd'hui en France, dont la moitié en région parisienne, ils s'intègrent paisiblement même très discrètement dans le paysage français, avec toujours une réputation de « travailleurs » sensibles à l'éducation des enfants. Une admiration française sur une migration qui demeure souvent un mystère. 自從 1712 年首次有一名中國人和一名巴黎人聯婚到近年成千上萬來自中國北部東北省的中國人，居住在法國的中國社群之歷史其實是在第一次世界大戰之後不久出現的一連串移民潮才真正開始。由上世紀初葉抵達法國的溫州人，到 70 年代中期越戰期間登陸的潮州人，到最近來自東北省的投資移民，他們全面地代表了中國大陸歷史中某些特定的時刻。 60 年代被視為“異國人”或 90 年代被視為“穩重又有頭腦”，法國的中國人已逐漸融入法國多種族的概況中。他們的數字愈來愈多，現今，法國的中國人可能已超過五十萬，而其中的一半是住在巴黎一帶，他們安靜又不引人注意地與法國的景貌融為一體，並永遠有着“勤勞工作”及重視孩子教育的聲譽。喚起法國人對這些永遠保持一種神秘感的移民之敬仰。 |

Hong Kong is associated to the international “10 words” caravan project in the form of a video documentary. Directed by Adeline C. Kayee and Wai Yin Kwok in 2008, the video aims at portraying Hong Kong and French speaking figures living in the city. The short film will be screened as well as “10 words caravan project” short films from different countries. |

On the forefront of mature French rap, Fisto moves easily among the various music styles and modes of expression that characterize the genre. Fisto's warm and humane rap comfortably rubs shoulders with jazz, soul and spoken word. Flirting with child-like melancholy and a belief in a better tomorrow, Fisto is a gifted idealist endowed with reason. Fisto will perform ont stage with Dj NEMO (from “La Moza”). 
Quebec, 1993 mark the place and time when Claude Bégin and Emmanuel Lajoie-Blouin met and launched the hip-hop group, Accrophone. Supported by excellent albums, the group's fame took off thanks to well-developed lyrics and a hip-hop sound juxtaposing reggae rhythms with jazz and topped off with meticulously vocalized harmonies plus a good helping of scratching. Accrophone thus forge their own unique sound as an iconoclast hip-hop group that is happy to use an acoustic guitar or other instruments rarely heard in hip-hop such as the harpsichord, clarinet and violin. 
In addition to his reputation as a graffiti and guerrilla street artist, Syan is also known by the pseudonym, MC Yan, and is one of the region's first Chinese rappers. In the group, LMF, together with DJ Tommy, he began the “chopstick hip-hop” movement by collaborating with musicians from other parts of Asia including South Korea, Taiwan, Mainland China and Japan. Syan/MC Yan was credited by Time Magazine (Asia), Newsweek (Asia), CNN and BBC as one of the pioneers of Chinese hip-hop. In 2006, MC Yan began his own label Fu©Kin Music, dedicated to the exploration of new music and lyric frontiers, some of which include Cantonese rap, spoken word Chinese and Slam.

Clara is Jewish, Ismaël is Arab. They're a happy, fulfilled couple. When Clara becomes pregnant, it's the happiest day of their lives. All goes well... 
30 year-old Yann Kerbec is an instructor for an airline company. But Yann has a small problem: he's afraid of flying, a debilitating panic linked to his birth and which, in his youth, stopped him from following the woman of his dreams to the end of the world. Today Yann is thirty years old. With nostalgia and humor, he reflects upon his trauma and delivers a scathing stocktaking of his love affairs that turned to custard because of his phobia.

Depuis le XIIe siècle, grâce à une femme à laquelle la tradition a donné le nom de « Marie de France », des femmes ont été présentes en littérature, et chaque siècle a compté, en nombre, des œuvres de celles que l'on a appelées tour à tour « femmes de lettres », « femmes auteurs » ou « écrivaines », parfois même « autrices », « auteuses » ou « autoresses ». Cette production continue d'écrits de femmes constitue l'une des singularités de la littérature de langue française. Elle est sans équivalent dans les autres littératures européennes. 
Depuis le premier mariage d'un Chinois et d'une Parisienne en 1712 jusqu'à l'arrivée de milliers de Chinois ces dernières années venus du Dongbei au nord de la Chine continentale, l'histoire de la communauté chinoise en France est une succession de migrations qui a vraiment commencé au lendemain de la Première Guerre mondiale. 
An afternoon of French poems read by author, singer and French lyricist Magali Fortin. This event is sponsored by the French Association of Foreign Languages Hong Kong how has brought Ms Fortin to Hong Kong to lead poetry workshops within existing French classes. Participants of these workshops will read a selection of their poems at the University of Hong Kong on Saturday afternoon, 21st March.
African music is all about Africa; the driving rhythm, the creative impulse, the diverse influences, to portray authentically the beauty of the music as it exists on this continent.
