Objective
To develop active practice of the French language
in the 4 basic skills (speaking, listening, writing and reading)
Students of Alliance Française have to attend at least 2 workshops of their choice while they study at the intermediate level before going to advanced stage.
The following workshops are specially designed for students of Levels 3, 4 and 5
Oral Workshop 1
For beginner students who want to improve their oral comprehension and conversational skills and strategies.
This workshop is specially designed for students from Level 3 to 5.
Written Workshop 1
For beginner students who wish to develop their reading and writing skills and strategies.
This workshop is specially designed for students from Level 3 to 5.
Phonetics
Introduction to the phonemes of the French language: explanation, production-repetition of a sound.
Specific problems: syllabic cutting, silent E, melodic lines, intonation, rules of stress, liaison, reading aloud...
The following workshops are specially designed for students of Intermediate Levels
Oral 2
For intermediate level students who wish to develop their listening and conversational skills and strategies.
Listening comprehension exercises based on recordings on daily life topics ; conversational exercises based on these topics.
This workshop is specially designed for students of Intermediate Levels.
Written Workshop 2
Written comprehension exercises based on documents of daily life topics; writing exercises based on these topics.
This workshop is specially designed for students of Intermediate Levels.
The following workshops are suitable for students of Elementary and Intermediate Levels
Grammar
Revision and practise of grammar topics like pronouns (direct, indirect, possessive, relative), articles (definite, indefinite, partitive), possessive adjectives and prepositions.
Bon Voyage en France !
You plan to travel to France
in the near future or later. You still have a limited command of the French language and you wish to improve your skills in order to deal with situations likely to arise while you will be traveling in France.
- To know how to talk about oneself.
- To know how to look and ask for information (tourist office, travel agency, Internet)
- To know how to get around, to phone, to travel by train, by MTR, to go to a restaurant, to go out in the evening, to book in an hotel,
- To know how to talk about Hong Kong
French Sounds through Songs (Les sons en chanson)
Improve your oral comprehension and your french pronounciation by listening to different styles of french speaking songs. Special focus will be made on phonetics.
The following workshop is designated for students of all Levels
French through Theatre (Français par le théâtre)
This workshop will help you become more fluent in various (…) everyday-life situations.
Guided improvisation will be the key word . For better learning, grammar and vocabulary will systematically be reviewed before role-playing. Regular feedback will be given by the teacher (on your pronunciation, intonation, facial expressions and gestures).
Students' active participation, high motivation and regular attendance will make the workshop more enjoyable.
The following workshop is designated for students of Level 6 or above
Video Workshop 
This workshop, which is the framwork of the 10 words of the French Speaking World, will have you create a short film based on the theme "Tell me words in all directions". From brainstorming to the upload of the film on the internet, each step of the production process is covered, en Français, of course!
Photography Workshop
This workshop learn how to de-code and analyse images. Take control of the creative process of making an image.
Specialised Courses for Higher Levels
The following courses are specially designed for students of Advanced and Superior Levels
Business French (Français des affaires)
If you are already working and/or you want to improve your French for business.
Objectives :
- To show a good knowledge of the socio-economic and commercial environment in France and in the French-speaking world.
- To be able to use French as the medium of communication in a company.
